Is 1P LSD Real LSD?
No, 1P-LSD is not real LSD.
However, it is very similar to LSD and is named for having a propionyl group bound to the nitrogen of the polycyclic indole group of LSD. 1P-LSD also acts as a partial agonist at the 5-HT2a receptor. (1)
Additionally, it has been theorized that 1P-LSD may act as a prodrug of LSD.
This is further concluded via a LC-MS where LSD is detected when 1P-LSD is incubated in human serum.
But further studies need to be done to determine whether 1P-LSD is hydrolyzed to LSD in vivo. (2)
Is 1P LSD Stronger Than LSD?
The short answer… no.
Even though animals aren’t exactly humans, we can still use them to gauge the potency of various compounds.
“According to a study done on mice, 1P-LSD shows only 38% the potency of actual LSD.” (3)
Awesome, right?
But by now you’re probably thinking, “OK, if 1p lsd isn’t the same as lsd, then what’s exactly the difference between 1p lsd and lsd besides it’s potency and a propional group?”
And that’s the problem.
The differences between these two psychedelics cannot really be known because 1P-LSD is a research chemical.
Meaning, it hasn’t been formally researched like it’s parent compound.
Therefore, it’s hard to say what the differences are outside the obvious.
However, apparently some people love being guinea pigs.
According to this source (4), there are anecdotal reports from many users that suggest the effects of 1P-LSD are so similar to LSD that they’re virtually impossible to distinguish from each other.
And then it goes on to say, “1P-LSD is significantly more stimulating and fast-paced regarding the specific style of its physical and cognitive effects”.
This last statement implies that they can be distinguished from one another, but probably not to the average person.
Oh well.
When comparing 1P LSD vs LSD 25, which one would you rather get your hands on?
Tough question, right?
Before you can even begin to answer that question, you still have to answer a variety of questions pertaining to the two compounds.
The first ones being, “how long does 1p lsd last” and “how long does lsd last?”.
According to this source (5), 1P-LSD can last up to 12 hours.
Or, to be more specific, the ‘onset’ is 20-60 minutes, the ‘come up’ is 45-120 minutes, the ‘peak’ is 3-5 hours, the ‘offset’ is 3-5 hours, and the ‘after effects’ are 6-24 hours.
In other words, you can drink a cup of coffee or have deep anal sex while waiting for the 1p lsd to kick in.
Don’t worry, it could be worse.
Some things have an onset time of 3 hours and a duration of only a couple hours.
Pretty dumb, right?
So be grateful of your ridiculous trip length.
Congratulations, you no longer have to wonder, “How long does 1p lsd last anyways!?”
Well, unless you’re blind, then we can’t help you.

Well, we don’t know.
Nor do we condone consumption.

But if 1P-LSD is similar to LSD in that regards, it can be detected in your system for up to 4 days after use. (6)
How much 1p lsd should you take?
“Sweet! So I’m screwed for 4 days, but what should my first time dose of 1p-lsd be?”
Well, if you look at various trip reports around the internet, you’ll generally find an average dosage of 1p-lsd is 100 µg – 150 µg. (7)
However, if you look at this source (8), you’ll find that they recommend 75 µg – 150 µg.
So, if you’re looking for a ‘beginner dose’ of 1p lsd, I would probably trust one of those dosage ranges recommended by these sources.
Their dosage guides are generally based on a huge network of user input.
In other words, they’re very credible.
But what I find really interesting is the fact that 1p-lsd has a recommended dosage in the same range as lsd. (9)
That’s pretty weird considering that it’s only 38% the potency of actual LSD in mice.
It should also be noted that it’s possible to do what’s called ‘micro dosing’ with 1p-lsd.
If you don’t know what micro dosing is, it’s essentially taking a very low dose of a compound in order to achieve a slightly heightened sense of awareness without getting to the point of being incapacitated.
When it comes to a 1p lsd microdose, 10 µg – 20 µg is usually the acceptable dosage range according to a variety of online sources.
Speaking of doses, you’re probably wondering if there is too high of a dose, right?
Can you overdose on 1p lsd?
The truth is, nobody knows exactly since it’s a novel chemical with a very small amount of professional research behind it.
However, due to its similarities with LSD, one can assume that it follows a similar metabolic pathway.
The LD50 of LSD in rats is 16.5 mg/kg i.v. (10)
With this is mind, if 1p lsd follows a similar safety profile when taking high or heroic doses, one should not find themselves in a lethal overdose situation.
However, I wouldn’t recommend testing this theory or consuming chemicals without a huge body of research on humans.
Now, you may be thinking, “OK, but what is a heroic dose of 1p lsd?”.
The problem is, that depends on who you’re talking to.
According to this source (11), a ‘heavy’ dose of 1p lsd is in the 300 µg range.
But after looking around, I was able to find one trip report with someone doing over 600 µg.
So, is 1p lsd safe?
Probably.
Considering that there are folks out there doing over a half milligram of the stuff.
However, even though it’s ‘safe’, it’s also probably bad for you to some degree as well.
Can 1p lsd kill you?
Probably.
Depending on your own body and how much one chooses to take.
Is it likely that it will kill you?
Probably not.
Vitamin C, milk, and even water can kill you.
It would be pretty foolish to assume that a man-made chemical couldn’t.
1p lsd side effects aren’t fun
If you look around the internet, you’ll find all kinds of interesting stories about ‘bad trips’ and the long term effects.
Even though it’s not considered habit-forming, it can still have disastrous effects on one’s psyche.
Some known side effects are anxiety, delusions, panic attacks, and even seizures.
And so, even if 1p lsd doesn’t kill you, it can still potentially damage your psyche if you are unable to integrate the experience. (12)

However, the effects of 1p lsd and lsd don’t seem to be all that bad.
And interestingly enough, they actually have very similar effects when you compare these two sources. (13)(14)
Some of those effects being, stimulation, physical euphoria, tactile enhancement, appetite suppression, analytical enhancement, creativity enhancement, existential self-realization, and more.
1p lsd vs lsd forms and distribution methods
Both 1p lsd and lsd are usually served via the same methods.
They both start off as a crystal, and then they are usually placed on blotter paper or micro pellets.
The crystal may also be pulverized into a powder for easier dissolution into liquids.
This allows consumers to lay their own blotter and allows easier handling for researchers.
The main difference between 1p lsd and lsd is probably their distribution model.
Since LSD is illegal, vendors are only able to distribute their product through personal networks and the dark net.
But, 1p lsd on the other-hand, is distributed through the clear net.
This is because 1p lsd is an unscheduled chemical and is legal throughout most of the world.
Which brings us to the next question, what’s the legality of 1p lsd and lsd throughout the world?
Is 1p-lsd legal in the us?
Within the United States, 1P-LSD is not controlled at the federal level. However, it’s possible that 1P-LSD could be considered as an analogue of LSD.
Meaning, in terms of legality, the trade or possession of 1p-lsd with intent for human consumption could be prosecuted under the Federal Analogue Act. (13)
Basically, ordering 1p lsd is safe so as long as there is no intention to consume it.
What about the legal status everywhere else?
1p lsd remains legal in Canada, Australia, Poland, Germany, and more as of the time of this writing.
1p lsd is illegal in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Switzerland.
However, one should do additional research to verify the legal status within their country or state since laws are in constant fluctuation. (14)
