Overview
You came here to find out about the best Alprazolam alternatives, but you’re going to learn a little bit more than that in this article.
If you only want the best Xanax Alternatives, then use the Table of Contents to go right to them.
Anyways, on with the show!
How do you use Xanax anyways?
In order to answer this question thoroughly depends upon the context in which you’re asking it.
For example, you can use Alprazolam in a number of ways.
You can use it safely, recreationally, to wean off other drugs, for sleep, for anxiety, and to even make other people ( besides yourself ) become unconscious.
With that being said, let’s start with one of the most asked questions here, “How much Xanax do you take recreationally?”.
To use Alprazolam recreationally is generally a matter of just using more than the prescribed dose.
The amount you actually use will depend upon a multitude of factors, including but not limited to your body weight and what you define as a recreational feeling.
For example, one may consider having a lack of anxiety as “recreational” whereas another may not.
One may find barely being able to walk, talk, and not remembering most of the night as “recreational” whereas another may not.
So, how you define “recreational” will ultimately determine how you use Xanax recreationally.
Assuming that you just want to get rid of your anxiety, the prescribed dose will usually do the job.
In instances where you’re looking for a bit more than just “anxiety relief”, you’ll need to use more than the prescribed dose.
The problem is, that dose varies from person to person.
For example, my tolerance to Alprazolam is relatively high compared to the normal person with no tolerance.
Meaning, it usually takes me around 3 Xanax bars ( 6mg of Alprazolam ) in order to get the desired “recreational” effects.
But, for someone who’s only done Xanax once in their life, it may only take 1mg of Alprazolam or half a Xanax bar to get the desired effects.
Ultimately, it’ll be up to you for finding your recreational dose since there’s no ‘one size fits all’.
In order to do this, I recommend working your dosages up slowly until you determine your limit.
It should be noted that you’ll probably end up blacking out by taking too much a few times while going through this process.
So, for harm reduction, you should have a sober person watching you to make sure you don’t do something that can cost you your life.
“How do you use Xanax safely?”
Well, considering that Xanax is a foreign chemical… you don’t!
But, there’s harm reduction practices you can follow in order to increase your chances of not being harmed.
The first rule of thumb is to NEVER mix Xanax with other depressants.
These include opioids like Heroin, Vicodin, and Percocet to other one’s like Alcohol, GHB, and *insert any other depressant here*.
The reason being is that the combination of depressants lead to something called respiratory failure.
Meaning, you can no longer breathe and you’ll end up dying from a heart attack or *insert every other way you can die from respiratory failure here*.
Personally, I know multiple people, including some of my close friends who have died due to respiratory failure.
Because of which, it’s very important to understand safety protocols and how to use Alprazolam responsibly when handling it.
If your Xanax is not prescribed as a prescription, then more likely than not it’s being pressed by random people.
Besides your Xanax potentially being contaminated, it could also be something else altogether… like Fentanyl.
If your Xanax bar in question happens to be Fentanyl, a Fentanyl analog, or some other highly dangerous opioid, you will most likely die if you consume it while believing it is Alprazolam.
Due to this issue, it’s extremely important that you test all batches of non-prescribed Xanax with various drug testing kits.
A particular set of useful ones in this instance are the Fentanyl testing strips.
And if you don’t think it can happen to you, you’re wrong.
It happened to Lil Peep, it happened to Mac Miller, it happened to me, and therefore, it can happen to you.
Do not cut corners with your harm reduction practices.
The ONE time I didn’t verify the identity of a substance, it happened to me.
Random, unidentified powders and tablets are bad news until they’re identified with various drug testing kits and sent off for 3rd party testing at chemical labs.
So, if you’ve been wondering, “How do I tell real Xanax from the fake ones?”.
There’s your answer.
“How to avoid xanax withdrawal”
Avoiding xanax addiction is an easy task.
Don’t do it every day.
Simple, right?
It’s a matter of weighing the risk vs the reward.
Would you rather have a potentially life threatening grand mal seizure from Xanax withdrawal, or would you rather have some anxiety from not having your daily Xanax dose?
Personally, skipping out on the daily Alprazolam dose seems like the right idea to me.
Interestingly enough, that’s also the secret to avoiding Xanax tolerance.
Just don’t do it every day.
I know… it’s not what you want to hear, but it’s the truth.
A truth that will save you the misery and dangers of a cold turkey attempt at quitting Xanax after abusing it for years on end every single day, multiple times per day.
But, what if it’s too late for you and you’re already a slave to Alprazolam dependence because you didn’t heed the warning?
Well… sorry buddy, you’re screwed!
Don’t worry, I’m just joking.
You can detox safely from Xanax by doing something called ‘Tapering’.
Tapering is where you decrease the dose of the benzodiazepine in question over time.
This process is best done with a longer acting benzodiazepine like Valium or Klonopin.
By following a specific protocol, you’ll be able to taper off Xanax at your home with no further complications.
Generally, you’ll want to taper down your dose until you feel withdrawal symptoms.
This indicates that you’ve tapered down slightly too far and too fast and should up your dose accordingly until all symptoms have disappeared.
Tapering can be a very gradual and slow process depending upon the extent of your Xanax addiction.
However, if you haven’t been doing Xanax that long and can safely get off it cold turkey, then you can use certain herbs to help combat any residual withdrawal effects.
Personally, my favorite herbs for the job are Skullcap, Blue Vervain, and Valerian Root.
It should be noted that you should not mix these herbs with other depressants like Xanax or Alcohol since this could cause respiratory complications.
“How does Xanax make you feel?”
Most people won’t feel the effects of Xanax unless they take enough to feel slightly drunk. This is because they’re not qualified for the drug in the first place.
In other words, they don’t have anxiety or trouble sleeping.
For the people that DO have anxiety or trouble sleeping, Xanax makes you feel like you no longer have anxiety or trouble sleeping.
Which is exactly why people love it so much.
So, in essence, it makes you feel as if you’re anxiety free because you’re no longer being drowned out by negative thoughts that end up creating a systematic response throughout your body.
And, as you increase your dose, you end up having a drunkish feeling, but without all of the bad side effects of Alcohol.
“How much Xanax does it take to kill you?”
A lot.
According to some studies done on the LD50 of Alprazolam, the LD50 in mice is LD50=1020 mg/kg.
Meaning, 50% of mice died once they started consuming 1020mg of Xanax per kilogram of body weight.
In regards to humans, that would be an insane amount of Xanax to take.
For examples sake, 1000mg of Alprazolam would be 500 2mg Xanax bars.
So, assuming that you weighed 150 pounds, that would be about 68 kilograms.
Meaning, you would have to consume around 34,000 2mg Xanax bars in order to have a 50% chance of dying if a humans LD50 is similar.
In other words, chances are you aren’t going to die from taking Alprazolam alone.
“What are the best Xanax alternatives?”
Well, if you want an amazing alternative to Xanax, unfortunately you aren’t going to find it from Klonopin, Valium, or a anxiolytic herb like Skullcap.
While they’re quite effective, they’re nothing like Alprazolam.
If you want a true Alprazolam alternative, then we’ll need to look into the world of research chemicals.
The best chemicals that I know of that come closest to mimicking Xanax are Etizolam, Clonazolam, and Flualprazolam.
Etizolam is even prescribed in some countries to treat issues like anxiety.
However, in most countries these chemicals aren’t approved for human consumption.
But, that still doesn’t stop most people from consuming them anyways… ha!
Anyways, if you want to get access to my all time favorite vendor(s) of quasilegal drugs like Etizolam, Clonazolam, Flualprazolam, and more… then click here.
